He has been in private practice in Vancouver for 20 years, is the former medical coordinator of the Palliative Care Unit at Vancouver Hospital, and is the current physician at Portland Hospital in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, residence of most of the city’s population of people suffering from mental illness, drug addiction and HIV.
