The first annual Empathic Therapy Conference vaulted beyond all expectations. My guest Doug Smith, MD, a psychiatrist from Alaska, shares his experience of this marvelous event. Nearly 200 hundred people from around the world attended. In an atmosphere of mutual trust and affection, professionals and laypersons shared their views, including their injuries and losses caused by conventional psychiatry, toward the end of furthering the field of empathic therapy and education. Put next year on your calendar: April 12-15 in Syracuse, New York.
