John Lauritsen is a retired market research analyst, author and gay liberationist and activist and currently the founder and head of Pagan Press, which publishes books that reach the gay community. We are fortunate to have with us today a key person who was a witness to the assassination of president John F Kennedy in Dallas on November 22, 1963. During the events, he had received a minor wound on his right check from a ricochet bullet or concrete fragment from a shot that had hit a curb close to where he was standing. Coleen Rowley is a former FBI special agent who was with the agency for 24 years. From 1990 to 2003, she was the Chief Division Counsel operating out of Minneapolis. In May 2002, she blew the whistle and later testified before the Senate Judiciary about the FBI’s pre-911 failures to track and investigate Zacarias Moussoui, who has been identified as central to the 911 plot. Karen Hudes is a former attorney who worked in the Legal Department of the World Bank from 1986 to 2007. She was responsible for establishing the Non-Governmental Organization Committee of the International Law Section at the American Bar Association. During her term at the World Bank, Karen whistleblew on the Bank’s corruption at high levels and warned the US Treasury and Congress that the US could lose its right to appoint the Bank’s president if it didn’t play by the rules. She was subsequently fired based on forged documents suggesting she was contempt of Congress. Since leaving the bank Karen has a private law practice in Bethseda Maryland. Colonel Lawrence (Larry) Wilkerson is a retired US Army Colonel and the former chief of staff to General Colin Powell while he was Secretary of State. He is currently a Distinguished Adjunct Professor of Government and Public Policy at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. Col. Wilkerson started as an assistant to Gen. Powell an 1989, and remained with through his term in the Bush administration. He has been an outspoken critic of the Iraq War, the Bush and Cheney White House, including his own preparation of what became Powell’s infamous 2003 presentation to the UN. Recently he has warned that what we are witnessing with the Obama administration’s build up to war with Syria is a repeat of the build up to invade Iraq. Col. John Merrell, JD is a tax attorney and now the sole partner of the firm Merrell and Merrell in McLean, Virginia, a legal firm specializing in IRS disputes, audits and criminal investigations. John received a degree in economics from Brigham Young University and his Juris Doctoral degree from Stanford Law School, where he was a member of the Editorial Board of the Stanford Law Review.
