The Gary Null Show – 10.05.18

How neoliberalism has created a culture of identity politics, inequality and a loss of civic responsibility on our college and university campuses

Prof. William Egginton is the Decker Professor of Humanities and Director of the Alexander Grass Humanities Institute at Johns Hopkins University where he focuses on Spanish literature, literary criticism, ethics, social pluralism and philosophy.  He has written several highly acclaimed books and contributes regularly to the New York Times’ The Stone, the Los Angeles Review of Books and Stanford University’s Arcade.  His most recent book — “The Splintering of the American Mind” – takes a hard look at the neoliberal trends that now dominate our college and university campuses and administrations, and have in turn fostered a culture of divisive identity politics, economic and racial inequality and are now eroding our sense of social community and authentic civic participation.
