Continuation of our Hidden Hand conversations about the Deep State, who rules over the US, and the recent Wikileak release of over 8000 CIA documents
In the first half of the program, Shahid Buttar discusses the chapter he wrote for Censored 2017, “Ike’s Dystopian Dream,”
where he examines the many ways that President Eisenhower’s warning about the military-industrial complex has proven correct. For the second half of the program, Mickey and Peter survey some of the other chapters of Censored 2017, particularly Peter’s chapter, “Selling Empire, War and Capitalism,” a look at the advertising / public relations industry, and how its influence extends far beyond peddling consumer products.
Bush, Blair and Co. are primarily responsible for the war in Iraq and the horrors that followed, however liberals, Democrats, and particularly the corporate news media (the same folks who gave the world President Trump) share a large portion of responsibility as well. They created the atmosphere necessary for the faux “War on Terror” (can’t wage war on a tactic), which is simply the latest justification for U.S. hegemony and imperialism. Today, let’s talk about history and why it still and always matters.
The House Intelligence Committee today opens its much-anticipated probe into Russia’s alleged interference in the 2016 presidential election to produce a win for then-candidate Donald Trump and, more broadly, the extent of Moscow’s alleged influence in the Trump administration.
Welcome, to the radio magazine that brings you news, commentary and analysis from a Black Left perspective. I’m Glen Ford, along with my co-host, Nellie Bailey. Coming up: It’s been almost 50 years since Dr. Martin Luther King broke with a Democratic President over the Vietnam War, but talking peace is still politically risky; and, whether you want to reform the U.S. prison system, or abolish it altogether, you’ll want to be in Washington on August 19, for the Millions for Prisoners Human Rights March.
The host Cliff Stewart, Lisa Stewart and Lamont Banks will be Shining a Spotlight on Capitol Hill & Congressman Bennie Thompson, who has spent his entire life giving a voice to the voiceless. The Congressman’s lifelong public service record is a testament to his unwavering dedication to fulfil and exceed the expectations of the constituents of the Second Congressional District of Mississippi. A native of rural Bolton, Mississippi, Thompson has always been aware of the realities that plague the South. Viewing the experiences his family endured first hand became the catalyst for his passion for those who were oftentimes underserved.

With the spotlight shining bright—and not in a good way—on President Donald Trump and the missteps of his embattled administration, the misdeeds and shortfalls President Barack Obama and his administration seem to have been put in the ash can of history, as though they have nothing to do with the severity of domestic and foreign policies Trump espouses and is seeking to enact.
Today we explore the question: In what ways did Obama and his administration trigger the backlash we see now in Trump and the rise of his so-called “populist” agenda?
The Conspiracy Guy #16: A series of developments in relation to the Middle East raise concerns that the neocons are firmly in control of the Trump foreign policy agenda, including saving two ISIS leaders traded in Mosul, a 432% increase in drone strikes, and the Pentagon’s absurd declaration that Iran is “the greatest security threat in the Middle East” and warning signs that Donald’s promise to end these foreign entanglements may not be the case. The ongoing Wikileaks revelations make the case for CIA surveillance of Trump and faking “Russian hacking” overwhelming, where even leading Democrats connected to the Senate Intelligence Committee admit they have no expectation of evidence that ties the Trump campaign to Russian interference. Even Noam Chomsky tweets, “World is Laughing at claims Russia Hacked Election”. IWB (Investors Watch Blog) has published some 50 “fake news” stories on CNN alone, which confirms Wikileaks information about the mainstream media under the control of the CIA. The knowledge that the CIA can seize control of your vehicle and thereby commit a vehicular assassination sheds light on the death of Michael Hastings, who appears to have been among the first of its targets. Trump continues to shake up Washington, as a recent TIME magazine cover reflects.
