Love Lust And Laughter – 04.18.17

There’s a reason fairy tale’s always end in marriage. It’s because nobody wants to see what comes after…it may be too grim. Brad Coates (www.CoatesandFrey.com) knows much about marriageand divorce, and is the author of “DIVORCE with DECENCY” – soon to be in its Fifth Edition. Dr. Diana and Brad reviewed some of the factoids in his book, including, “Men are usually the first to say ‘I love you.’” Perhaps this is because they are more romantic and want more non-sexual affection, stereotypes aside. “One-half of all divorces happen by year seven of the marriage”; indeed, the “seven-year itch.” There are anthropological reasons at play. “Marital satisfaction does increase with each successive year…once you have made it past the first twenty-five years.” John Gottman, one of the nation’s leading marriage researchers, reports that older married couples tend to behave like younger married couples outside of the bedroom – with a sense of kindness. We discussed many other aspects of Brad’s book, a book that can save your marriage! Tune in to discover the details!

Today, however, they talk about abrupt climate change, staying sane in the context of ecological collapse, and why they remain engaged in activism.

It’s Our Money – Digits – Better Get Used to Them…… – 03.12.17

As cash transactions continue a downward slide toward obsolescence and perhaps even illegality, a host of replacement media are being lined-up to replace the practice of making tactile exchanges when completing transactions. Everyone is used to using credit and debit cards, those intermediaries that digitize payments and do account reckoning. But what lies beyond those captured private industry providers like Visa and Mastercard is an even more exotic and potentially far safer monetary transaction system called “blockchain.” This week Ellen talks with Jon Underwood, the founder and CEO of a blockchain-based parallel payment system called C-pay, a system capable of creating local monetary systems as well as addressing some of the payment world’s stickiest markets, like the developing cannabis markets of the American West.

Global Alert News – 04.01.17

These are indeed strange days on planet Earth. The human race is spiraling toward the paradigm shift of critical resource depletion, climate disintegration, mass starvation, and global conflict. Not only is there no attempt by global powers to slow down the unraveling, every imaginable effort is being made by the power structure to accelerate the looting, pillaging, and plundering of our dying planet. As our species approach the cliff, we are collectively hitting the accelerator, not the brakes. Could there be any silver lining to the increasingly catastrophic events that are battering populations around the globe? Could the rapid acceleration of such events finally trigger the forced wake-up of the masses before all is lost?
