Trends This Week – Recovery or Recession? Fact or fiction? – 02.03.16
World renowned forecaster Gerald Celente revisits President Obama’s State of the Union address last month when the president stated: “Anyone claiming that America’s economy is in decline is peddling fiction.” Breaking down the fact-based reasons why global recession, one of the Trends Research Institute’s Top Trends of 2016, is inevitable and Obama is the one “peddling fiction,” Celente serves up the facts – growing in number and relevance – to paint a true picture of economies worldwide and what those indicators mean to you. He further explains how global recession will feed social unrest, which is a key indicator of war on the horizon – the “Last World War,” another Top Trend for 2016.

Dr. Guy McPherson is a professor emeritus of Natural Resources, Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Arizona. He has specialized in forest resources, energy decline and climate change and its economic consequences. In the past he has also taught at Texas A&M and University of California at Berkeley. Having become disillusioned with the American university environment and academia, and after attempts by university officials to silence his outspokenness about the human causes of climate change, Guy abandoned his tenured position as a full professor for ethical reasons of conscience. He is the author of several books, the latest co-written with Carolyn Baker entitled “Extinction Dialogs: How to Live with Death in Mind.” He is also the co-host of the radio program Nature Bats Last heard every Tuesday evening at 3 pm Eastern time on the Progressive Commentary Hour. Dustin Beilke – Obama Administration Enables Billionaire Takeover of America’s Public Schools
With the Walton billionaires doubling down [3] in their efforts to accelerate the charter school industry and with the Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, throwing in $100 million [4] to privatize traditional public schools, one might think that the U.S. Department of Education would be a major line of defense for America’s public schools educating the most underserved students or even a bold investor in …

James Wilt – There Is a New Climate Change Disaster Looming in Northern Canada
Of all the climate change issues that have been melodramatically dubbed a “carbon bomb” in recent years—tar sands projects in Alberta, catastrophic wildfires in Indonesia, holes in Australia’s seagrass meadows—it seems the thawing of permafrost in the Arctic is most likely to live up to the hype. There’s a staggering amount of methane and carbon dioxide, like hundreds of gigatons …
